Cancun Mexico Wedding | Amanda & Rob

We had the amazing opportunity to head to down Mexico’s Finest Playa Mujeres to photograph Amanda & Rob’s wedding in November. I had met Amanda & Rob about a year and a half ago for their maternity photos, then took newborn photos of their son Luca. They are such a sweet and happy couple! In need of a vacation (who isnt?) we extended the trip a few days to enjoy some sun and relaxation before their big day. We couldn’t wait! It was a beautiful resort with very tasty food and drinks and Amanda and Rob had a pretty good turn out. The swim-up pool bar was one of my favorite spots, as well as the any of the restaurants really. All inclusive, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The weather was great too!

…until the day of their wedding

🙁 WHY?!

Luckily we planned a first look before the ceremony. The winds seemed calmer up by the Spa then down on the beach of course. We prayed it wouldn’t rain during their ceremony. Everyone still in good spirits, including Amanda & Rob, they decided to keep the ceremony on the beach. Give or take a little rain, and something like 50 mph wind gusts, it happened. As you can see in the pics, everyone got wet, but I think it was totally worth it! (The kiss at the ceremony was not a “soft & dreamy” edit, it was my lens fogged up). Unfortunately we couldn’t take many photos after the ceremony of the couple due to the weather, but we offered to take some the next morning so they had some on the beach! We also had taken a few of the family a couple days before the wedding (at end of post).

The reception was held outside under a large grass hut (protected by the wind) and the details inside were perfect. The dance party was a blast…and whoever brought the Mickey gloves, that was hilarious. Thank you again Amanda and Rob for having us photograph your destination wedding. We had SUCH a fabulous time and I am sure we will see you sometime soon. Here are some of our faves! We wish you a lifetime of happiness…
